OpenAI has taken another decisive step in strengthening its enterprise push, announcing on Tuesday that Slack CEO Denise Dresser will join the company as its new Chief Revenue Officer. The appointment signals OpenAI’s intention to scale aggressively as demand for AI solutions rapidly accelerates across global industries.

Driving OpenAI’s Global Revenue Strategy
In her new role, Dresser will guide OpenAI’s worldwide revenue operations, shaping strategy across enterprise sales, customer success, and long-term commercial partnerships. The company said the move is designed to support the surge in organizations adopting its AI tools for mission-critical work.
A Proven Leader from Slack and Salesforce
At Slack, she played a central role in steering the platform through its integration with Salesforce (CRM.N) following the company’s $27.7b acquisition in 2021. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade at Salesforce itself, where she oversaw global sales operations and worked closely with some of the world’s largest enterprise clients.
Her background positions her as a key figure for OpenAI as it transitions from a breakout AI innovator into a dominant enterprise technology provider.
AI Adoption Reaches a Critical Turning Point
OpenAI noted that businesses are no longer treating AI as a side experiment. Instead, companies are embedding the technology into their core operations, automating complex workflows and boosting productivity at scale.
According to OpenAI, its models are enabling employees to save time, streamline creative work, and complete tasks that were previously “out of reach” for traditional software.
Record Revenue Signals Explosive Growth
The momentum behind AI adoption is showing up in OpenAI’s numbers.
In September, The Information reported that OpenAI generated about $4.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2025 a 16% jump from its earnings in 2024.
Backed by Microsoft (MSFT.O), OpenAI has rapidly embedded itself into the enterprise space. The company says more than one million organizations now use its AI tools, including major names such as Walmart, Morgan Stanley, and Target. These companies rely on OpenAI models for both internal operations and customer-facing services.
A Strategic Appointment for OpenAI’s Next Chapter
Dresser’s arrival marks a pivotal moment for OpenAI as it continues its expansion into enterprise markets. With her leadership and experience scaling global revenue operations, the company appears positioned for another wave of growth—and perhaps an even stronger foothold in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
