ODAN x PRJCT Kumasi’s Showcase Emerging Creatives in Accra

Kumasi’s growing creative scene will take center stage in Accra this weekend. ODAN Residency, in collaboration with PRJCT Kumasi, is hosting a special pop-up event. The event highlights art, fashion, and sustainable design.

The program will bring together emerging creatives who are shaping Kumasi’s fashion and visual art community. Visitors will experience live demonstrations, exhibitions, and conversations with the artists. As a result, guests will gain insight into Kumasi’s evolving creative culture.

A Platform for Kumasi’s Creative Community

Kumasi has become an important hub for young creatives in Ghana. In recent years, many artists and designers have begun experimenting with new ideas. At the same time, they continue to stay connected to local culture.

This pop-up gives them a platform to share their work with a wider audience. In addition, the event strengthens the connection between the creative communities in Kumasi and Accra. Therefore, visitors will see how collaboration continues to shape Ghana’s creative scene.

Live Tailoring and Sustainable Fashion

One of the highlights of the event will be a live tailoring session by Rocamari. During the session, guests will watch garments being constructed in real time. This offers a rare look into the craft behind contemporary fashion design.

Meanwhile, Rashad from HADORF will lead a session on screen printing and upcycling. He will demonstrate how old materials can become new fashion pieces. In addition, the session highlights the growing role of sustainability in modern fashion.

Group Art Exhibition

The event will also feature a group exhibition by artists Adwoa Antwiwaa Opoku and Eric Opoku Asare.

Their work explores themes of identity, culture, and everyday Ghanaian life. Through painting and visual storytelling, they present fresh perspectives on contemporary art from Kumasi.

Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to view the works up close. They will also interact with the artists during the event.

Talks and Conversations

In addition to the exhibitions, the program includes talks and Q&A sessions with the creatives. During these discussions, the artists will share their inspiration and creative process.

More importantly, the sessions allow young creatives and art enthusiasts to engage directly with the artists. As a result, the event becomes both an exhibition and a learning space for visitors.
