Reggie Osei, widely known as Reggie, is regarded as one of the key figures who helped shape the Ghanaian drill movement known as “ASAKAA”, a sound and culture that emerged from Kumasi and has grown into a movement recognized beyond Ghana’s borders. His style blends melodic rap with drill influences, while seamlessly switching between Twi, English, and Ghanaian pidgin to create music that feels authentic and deeply connected to his roots.
Recognized for his sharp lyricism and storytelling ability, Reggie often draws inspiration from his personal experiences and journey through life in Kumasi. Themes of ambition, friendship, love, setbacks, and perseverance consistently run through his music. Those experiences take center stage on GUY GUY MMIENU, a project that offers listeners a more intimate look into the person behind the music.
