WAVVI Partners With Rain Labs to Broaden Opportunities for African Artists

WAVVI, a music distribution and artist services platform designed specifically for African creatives, has entered into a new strategic partnership with Rain Labs, an artist development and music strategy company, to broaden support opportunities for musicians across Ghana, Nigeria, and the wider West African region.

Since launching in Ghana earlier this year, WAVVI has experienced strong early growth, bringing more than 10,000 users onto its platform within its first two months. The rapid adoption highlights increasing demand for artist-focused music infrastructure across the market. Through this new collaboration, WAVVI is now extending its offering beyond music distribution by introducing more direct strategic support aimed at helping artists strengthen their releases, reach larger audiences, and build long-term careers.

As part of the partnership, Rain Labs will provide a variety of artist-focused services through the WAVVI platform. Independent musicians will gain access to professional support in areas such as release planning, artist development, digital streaming platform (DSP) strategies, playlist pitching, marketing campaigns, social media growth, public relations, and sync opportunities.

WAVVI already provides artists with digital distribution services, mobile money payouts, performance analytics, and other creative tools within one ecosystem. The addition of Rain Labs’ expertise will allow users to access more tailored support throughout their release process, from early-stage planning and feedback to audience growth strategies and campaign execution.

Speaking on the collaboration, WAVVI Co-Founders Tom Russell and Y’akoto shared that, the company was created to give African artists access to the tools and infrastructure needed to release, promote, and monetize their music on a global scale.

They noted that the platform’s rapid growth in Ghana demonstrates the scale of opportunity and demand, adding that the partnership with Rain Labs brings an additional layer of professional support that goes beyond distribution and helps artists make more informed career decisions.

The partnership will begin with a focus on Ghana before gradually expanding into Nigeria and other West African markets.

Artists using WAVVI will be able to access and purchase Rain Labs services directly through the platform. Available offerings are expected to include release strategy sessions, artist feedback consultations, playlist support, campaign planning, social media guidance, DSP strategy, and selected sync placement opportunities.

The collaboration also aligns with WAVVI’s broader vision of becoming a complete ecosystem for African musicians by bringing together distribution, payments, promotion, analytics, and professional development services under one platform.

Rain Labs Founder Albert Donkor also expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the abundance of creative talent across Africa while noting that many artists still face challenges accessing professional guidance and development support.

He explained that the partnership aims to make these resources more accessible and help artists approach their careers with greater structure and direction. The Rain Labs services are expected to become part of WAVVI’s upcoming rollout of new artist tools and premium features.
