Ghanaian Afro-Soul and R&B singer-songwriter Darkua joins forces with Nigerian artist and Chocolate City signee TAR1Q on their latest collaboration, “Know You,” an intimate record that explores love, vulnerability, trust, and the possibility of starting over.
Produced by Ghanaian beatmaker Insvne Auggie, the song settles into a smooth mid-tempo rhythm, creating enough space for both artists to let their voices and emotions take centre stage. Rather than rushing its message, “Know You” unfolds with a relaxed warmth, allowing Darkua and TAR1Q’s contrasting vocal personalities to complement each other naturally.

Darkua sets the tone from the opening, approaching love with renewed conviction. As the song develops, she moves into Ga, using her native language to question whether the person she has chosen to trust will genuinely be there for her. The moment adds another layer of intimacy to the record, balancing her willingness to love again with the uncertainty of giving someone another chance.
“Know You” ultimately centres on the difficult decision to reopen your heart after disappointment. It speaks to choosing love once more while making it clear that the opportunity comes with responsibility. Darkua brings the emotional openness, while TAR1Q meets her perspective with a measured response that reinforces the song’s themes of reassurance, honesty, and commitment.
The collaboration traces back to the CNM x Rainlabs Songwriting Camp, held in March 2026. The camp brought together creatives from across West Africa with the broader aim of encouraging collaboration between anglophone and francophone music communities. It provided artists with a dedicated environment to exchange ideas, write, record, and develop new musical connections.

For Darkua, working with TAR1Q was a collaboration she had been looking forward to. Reflecting on how the song came together, she says:
“TAR1Q has been an artist I have wanted to work with for a while now, and he has been on my radar. The camp presented the perfect opportunity to make this session possible. We recorded the song on the last day of the camp, and it was one of the best sessions we had.”
