DJ Shagy & Kvpel’s “Bounce” Earns Exclusive African Representation on FIFA HEROES Soundtrack

Ghanaian Dance Music DJ and producer “DJ Shagy” has secured a place on the official soundtrack of FIFA Heroes, becoming the only African artist selected for the newly announced football arcade game’s soundtrack.

His song, Odeal. “Bounce” stands as the continent’s sole representation on a soundtrack that also includes internationally recognised names such as Central Cee, J Balvin, Rich The Kid, and, at a time when African music continues to influence global culture, the selection is particularly significant as it shines a light on a different side of the continent’s sound.

Rather than Afrobeats, “Bounce” is rooted in the growing world of African electronic music and Afro-House. The record was created by an all-Ghanaian creative team. DJ Shagy is joined by Afro-House and Afro-EDM artist KVPEL, production from GRAMMY Award-winning producer C-Tea, whose credits include work with Black Coffee, and vocal production support from Redemption Beatz.

The selection arrives through FIFA Heroes, a newly announced arcade football title from FIFA that combines gaming, football culture, and music. All the soundtrack records will debut inside the game before being released commercially. For DJ Shagy, the milestone represents a win not only for Ghana but for African dance music at large.

“To know that the continent is represented through a record made entirely in Ghana is incredible,” says DJ Shagy. “We hope this opens more doors for African electronic music, meaningfully, globally.” As African electronic music continues to evolve and gain recognition internationally, the FIFA Heroes placement marks a notable moment in the genre’s journey from local dancefloors to global entertainment platforms.

ABOUT FIFA HEROES
FIFA Heroes is the newest title in the FIFA gaming franchise. Built as a fast-paced, arcade-style football experience, FIFA Heroes is designed for a global audience and launched on June 24th with iShowspeed. The game features a curated international soundtrack assembled to reflect diverse global music culture, with artist selections drawn from across the world.

Music placement on FIFA titles has historically served as a significant launchpad for artists, reaching audiences in over 200 countries and territories. For FIFA Heroes, Ghana, through the creative collaboration of DJ Shagy, KVPEL, and C-tea, holds the continent’s singular position on that soundtrack.

THE TRACK: “BOUNCE”
“Bounce” is a product of Accra’s dance music ecosystem in full creative form. The record pairs the producer’s deep house and Afrohouse sensibility with KVPEL’s Afro-EDM energy and C-tea’s world-class production craftsmanship. The result is a track whose rhythm and atmosphere earned it a place among the FIFA Heroes selection panel’s final choices.

The track will be exclusively available within the FIFA Heroes game at launch and will be officially released as a single on all streaming platforms by August 2026 via Discovr Radio. For the period between launch and the commercial release, FIFA Heroes represents the only place in the world where the track can be heard.

THE ARTISTS

DJ Shagy (@OBAGOUNLTD) is a Ghanaian DJ, producer, and cultural curator widely recognised as one of the country’s leading voices in electronic and dance music. He is a recipient of the Pete Tong DJ Academy Future Talent award, one of the most credentialled international recognitions available to Electronic Music DJs, and was named 2025 House Music DJ of the Year at the Ghana DJ Awards. C-tea (@CTEABEAT) is a GRAMMY Award-winning Ghanaian producer with collaborations with Black Coffee, one of the most celebrated DJ-producers on the planet and a global ambassador for African electronic music. C-tea’s production credit on “Bounce” brings a level of world-class craft to the record that reflects the upper tier at which Ghana’s music production community is now operating.

CONTEXT: GHANA’S ELECTRONIC MUSIC MOMENT
Ghana’s dance music scene has evolved significantly over the past decade, with a new generation of DJs, producers, and live acts developing sounds that are rooted in indigenous Ghanaian rhythms while remaining fully fluent in global electronic music idioms.

For the three core contributors on “Bounce, ” this milestone is not a departure from their trajectories; it is a natural extension of years of consistent work in the scene. DJ Shagy has spent years building community infrastructure around dance music in Ghana. KVPEL has been developing a sound that is distinctly his own within the Afro-electronic space. C-tea has accumulated the kind of international production record that speaks for itself.
