Sony Music has officially confirmed the release of Michael: Songs from the Motion Picture, the soundtrack accompanying the highly anticipated biopic Michael, based on the life of Michael Jackson. The album is now available for pre-order and is scheduled to be released on April 24, coinciding with the film’s theatrical release through Lionsgate and Universal Pictures.
The project features 13 tracks that appear in the film, tracing Jackson’s musical evolution—from his early days with The Jackson 5 and The Jacksons to his groundbreaking solo era, including classics from Off the Wall and Thriller. Fans can expect timeless records like Billie Jean, Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough, and Human Nature, among others.
The soundtrack will be available across multiple formats on release day, including a 2-LP vinyl edition with a range of color variants and exclusive options.
Set to hit cinemas on April 24, Michael offers a cinematic deep dive into the life of one of the most influential entertainers in history. The film explores his journey from a gifted child leading The Jackson 5 to becoming a global superstar driven by unmatched ambition and creativity. Beyond the music, it captures personal moments and iconic performances that defined his rise to fame.
The film stars Jaafar Jackson in his debut role as Michael Jackson, alongside Nia Long, Miles Teller, Colman Domingo, and others. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the film is produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain.
Distribution will be handled by Lionsgate in the U.S., while Universal Pictures oversees international markets, excluding Japan, where Kino Films will manage the release in partnership with Lionsgate.
