WAVVI Teams Up with Jay Bahd to Empower the Next Generation of Artists

WAVVI, the African music distribution and artist services platform, has joined forces with Ghanaian rapper Jay Bahd to launch a new talent discovery initiative, giving one emerging artist the chance to collaborate with him on an upcoming release.

The campaign encourages artists to distribute their music through WAVVI, where eligible submissions will be reviewed by Jay Bahd. After listening to the shortlisted entries, he will personally select one artist to feature on their record, creating a rare opportunity for an independent act to work alongside one of Ghana’s most influential voices.

The initiative brings together Jay Bahd’s impact on Ghana’s contemporary music scene with WAVVI’s commitment to helping African artists grow sustainable careers. Through its platform, creators gain access to professional music distribution, promotional tools, performance insights, and payment solutions designed specifically for African markets.

More than a collaboration campaign, the initiative is designed to encourage artists to take ownership of their careers. By releasing music through WAVVI, participants can professionally launch their records, expand their reach, and connect with new audiences while competing for a career-defining collaboration with Jay Bahd.

Jennifer Yaa Akoto Kieck & Tom Russell, Co-Founders of WAVVI, Said: “Africa has no shortage of talent. What is often missing is access to the right infrastructure, opportunities, and routes to market. This partnership with Jay Bahd connects all three: artists can release their music through WAVVI, put it in front of a major artist, and create a genuine opportunity for collaboration.”

Jay Bahd, Said: “There are talented artists everywhere who deserve to be heard. I’ve teamed up with WAVVI because I want to hear what artists are creating and find someone with a track I genuinely want to be part of.

WAVVI allows artists and independent labels to distribute music to leading global streaming platforms, access promotional tools, monitor their performance, and receive earnings through locally accessible payment methods, including mobile money. The collaboration forms part of WAVVI’s wider commitment to creating practical opportunities for African artists while building the infrastructure they need to release, promote, and monetise their work.
