Milona Set to Take Ghanaian Hip-Hop Global With New EP “FOREVER”

Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and emerging producer Danquah Emmanuel, known professionally as Milona, is steadily carving out a place for himself within Ghana’s evolving hip-hop landscape.

Born in Winneba in Ghana’s Central Region and raised in Ashaiman, Greater Accra, Milona grew up in a community with a deep connection to Ghana’s contemporary music culture. Ashaiman, famously associated with talents including Stonebwoy, has long served as fertile ground for young artists developing their voices outside the traditional industry centres.

Milona’s relationship with music began early. He recorded his first single in 2012, marking the beginning of a journey that would eventually take him from experimenting with music to building a growing catalogue and developing his identity as both an artist and producer.

Today, Milona is part of Greatnexxt Music, a collective focused on supporting and developing emerging talent. His catalogue includes releases such as “Millions,” featuring Essuman, while his increasingly distinctive approach to rap continues to resonate with a younger generation of Ghanaian listeners.

Now, Milona is entering a new chapter with the release of his forthcoming six-track EP, FOREVER, scheduled for September 18, 2026. The project features a notable lineup of Ghanaian artists, including KayFlip, Medikal, and DarkoVibes, placing Milona in conversation with some of the country’s established and emerging voices.

Ahead of the release, Milona recently hosted a private listening session at Mad Skyz in East Legon, Accra, giving a select audience an early introduction to the project and the sonic direction behind FOREVER.

The EP arrives at an interesting moment for Ghanaian hip-hop, as a new generation of artists continues to experiment with the boundaries between rap, Afrobeats, street culture, and contemporary African sounds. For Milona, FOREVER represents an opportunity to move beyond being simply an emerging name and establish a clearer artistic identity.

With roots in Ashaiman, a growing body of work, and an ambitious new project on the way, Milona is positioning himself as one of the newer voices contributing to the next chapter of Ghanaian rap—one that increasingly looks beyond the streets of Accra toward a global audience.
