Ghanaian alternative R&B singer and songwriter Tower has earned a nomination for the Rising Star Award at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), putting her among eight emerging talents competing for the honour this year. The nomination comes ahead of the AFRIMMA Musicfest, scheduled for September 12, 2026, at Annette Strauss Square, AT&T Performing Arts Centre in Dallas, Texas.
Tower shares the category with Florito from Angola, Shoday and No 11 from Nigeria, Rebo Tchulo of DR Congo, Kenya’s 2wentysixx, Côte d’Ivoire’s Ameka Zrai, and South Africa’s Ciza. The diverse lineup highlights the growing pool of young African artists making their mark across different sounds and territories.
What makes Tower’s nomination particularly notable is how early it has come in her career. She officially introduced herself in February 2026 with “Green,” an introspective record that offered an early glimpse into her artistic direction. She followed it with “Wildflower,” a more emotionally open release that gave listeners an even stronger sense of her songwriting and alternative R&B identity. Together, the two releases have helped establish Tower as an emerging voice with a calm, distinctive approach to storytelling and vulnerability.
Tower is managed by KhuJenga Management, which has been supporting the early stages of her career. Her AFRIMMA recognition arrives only months after her debut, marking an important milestone for the young Ghanaian singer and her team. Her nomination also gives Ghana representation in a category featuring artists from across the continent, with Nigeria receiving two nominations alongside entries from Angola, DR Congo, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa.
