Ghanaian Highlife artist RCee has officially released his much-anticipated EP, “Young Daddy“, a confident and fully formed project that further cements his place in the new wave of the genre. Widely seen as one of the key voices pushing Highlife forward, RCee brings a refined sense of artistry across the six-track EP. Young Daddy draws from traditional Ghanaian sounds while embracing modern production, striking a balance between heritage and contemporary appeal.
The project also features strong contributions from rapper M.anifest and singer Mellissa, both adding their own distinct energy and depth to the record. On the production side, Afrolektra, RankingMadeIt, and 2Shuus lead a well-curated soundscape, supported by additional work from Klasik Beatz and Babawvd. Live instrumentation from guitarist Joshua Mozsi and saxophonist Opejasax adds an extra layer of richness, giving the project a more textured and polished feel.
At its heart, Young Daddy reflects themes of growth, confidence, love, and ambition. RCee presents himself not just as a performer, but as an artist with a clear identity and direction, shaping how Highlife is experienced today. With this release, RCee steps into a leading role within the space, positioning Young Daddy as a standout contribution to the evolving sound of Ghanaian music.
About Artist
RCee, born Austin Antwi Boakye, is part of a new generation of artists redefining Ghana’s evolving sound. Originally from Bremang in Kumasi and now based in Accra, his music blends Afrobeats, Highlife, and Afro-fusion in a way that feels both modern and rooted. His journey has been steady, built on early releases that connected easily with listeners, songs that feel natural, reflective, and perfect for laid-back moments.
That growing momentum led to his debut EP “How Did We Get Here?”, a project that introduced his artistry on a wider scale. Through themes of love, personal growth, gratitude, and ambition, the EP delivered a sound that’s smooth, emotional, and quietly captivating. Standout tracks like “Knees & Bend,”“Amazing,” and “Blessings” quickly resonated with fans, helping define his signature style as calm, melodic, but still memorable enough to stick.
